Gerontology

Study Gerontology at ATU

This exciting multidisciplinary part-time programme emphasises healthy aging in older adults, and is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland for those registered nurses on relevant division (RGN, RNID, RNT, RPHN, RPN).

The aim of this course is to develop postgraduates’ theoretical knowledge, professional values and skills to enable them to plan and implement evidence-based interventions and person-centred approaches for older people across a variety of health and social care contexts.

Students can choose to apply to our part-time Gerontology Nursing or Gerontology Practice, both of which are available to study at Masters or Postgraduate Diploma level.

These part-time programmes are blended in terms of delivery meaning that they have both online and on-campus elements. On-campus attendance will be delivered at either our Letterkenny campus, Castlebar campus or St Angelas campus.

Blended | On-Campus | Level 9
