Master by Research in the Department of Marketing, Tourism & Sport 

ATU Sligo 

I am currently studying for my Masters by Research since completing my degree in Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Sport with Business at ATU Sligo. I am a mature, disabled student and have been a disability advocate within the university since beginning my third level education.  I am delighted to be a Student Champion in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and committed to working with fellow champions and staff towards a more accessible and inclusive learning environment and experience for students and staff across ATU.

Currently, I sit on the Sligo and Donegal County Council Disability Housing Committees where I advocate for accessible housing for students and more student accommodation. Over the past four years, I have supported and signposted students to relevant supports and services available on campus that help them achieve equity in their learning. I have recently carried out an accessibility audit on the ATU campus with an occupational therapist. I look forward to listening to students about their concerns and needs – to advocate for them in the coming year.
