Regional Development

A central part of ATU’s mission is supporting the social and economic development of the Northern and Western Region. This region needs to reduce a growing gap in economic growth with the rest of the State and ATU will play its role in this. The presence of the University in itself, together with the annual emergence of new cohorts of graduates and publication of fresh research findings, provide a fundamental contribution to the region’s development. On top of this, there are a number of initiatives and projects which the University is leading or supporting which work directly to support the region’s development through engaging with companies, public services and voluntary bodies in the region.
