Course Overview
This photography programme has been popular for many years and has attracted individuals of all ages and levels of interest.
The programme covers the fundamentals of photography, technical instruction in use of cameras, lighting, composition and image manipulation using industry standard software. There are group discussions and activities along with one-to–one tuition in Mac equipped labs. A photo studio supports the tuition of lighting and controlled environments. Photo shoots also take place on location. An exhibition of students achievements takes place at the end of the programme which has been highly commended by professional photographers over the years.

Digital Photography 1This module is suitable for beginners or novice photographers using mostly automatic settings on compact cameras. During the module the student will learn how to compose and plan a photographic shoot. They will also learn how to maximise the opportunities of lighting, adjust their photographs using Photoshop and prepare images for the web and for print. The module consists of a series of hands on exercises aimed at building the students confidence in using the equipment to record and enhance imagery on the Mac platform. Learning Outcomes 1. Digital Photography 2This module is suitable for amateur photographers and those wishing to progress from Level 1. The student will learn how to use an SLR camera and to use the camera manual settings in order to maximise photographic opportunities. During the module the student will learn how to use a digital camera and a range of lenses, how to understand and use light, both on location and in the studio. They will also learn how to make best use of Tripods and Flash guns, set up a workflow and edit their photographs on the Mac platform. Learning Outcomes 1. Entry Requirements
This programme is a hands on studio-based course that requires no previous artistic experience. However enthusiasm and passion for photography are a must. Basic computer skills are required.
Careers
Graduates may choose to pursue roles in commercial, industrial or wedding photography.
