Course Overview
This programme has been designed to suit mature learners who would like to return to education and achieve a qualification but cannot attend a full-time course. It is suitable for those seeking employment in the functional fitness industry, in a part-time or full-time capacity.
This course prepares individuals to enter the industry with the highest possible standard of coaching ability, thus reducing the time required for internship.
The fitness industry has been undergoing a transition in the past decade. Fitness facilities are becoming less commercially designed, more functional in approach and increasingly client centred, and as result, the industry requires a professional who is equipped with the knowledge, skills and experience that aligns with this change.
This transition is evident from the increased number of modern training facilities; however, the qualification framework has not evolved as quickly and therefore a lack of trainers and coaches to fulfil these roles exists. Consequently, there is an opportunity to offer these courses in a life-long training context to individuals already working in the industry in addition to those seeking to gain meaningful qualifications.
The goal of the Certificate in Functional Fitness Coaching is to bridge this gap. ATU, in collaboration with Bua Collective and Flow Coach Development have designed the perfect blend of theory (online delivery) with practical learning (Bua, Santry, Co. Dublin Delivery) to bring this pioneering course to market.
