Course Overview
With an increased emphasis on teaching computing in schools, there is increasing demand for teachers to introduce technology and coding as part of the curriculum. This 10 credit special purpose level-8 award is designed to assist teachers in developing their knowledge of web development using HTML/CSS as well as an awareness of the need to design for a good user experience and interaction
Specifically the objectives of the course are to: –
Outline the steps involved in the web site development process.
Plan, design and develop standards-compliant web page.
Implement web pages using HTML and CSS.
Evaluate and apply principles of screen, navigation and interface design.
Evaluate web sites according to well-known criteria for effective web design.
Reflect upon and document the implementation of web development in an educational context.
