What is a civil engineering apprenticeship?
The Civil Engineering Apprenticeships offer unique two or three-year programmes that lead to a Higher Certificate or a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
Civil engineering is essential to modern infrastructure, encompassing bridges, roads, water systems, and energy networks. These programmes emphasise design and sustainability in structural engineering, transportation, water engineering, and foundation design.
Each year begins with a residential week on campus for project-based learning and networking, followed by four days of workplace training and one day of online study. In addition, the apprentices are required to attend one lab day on campus per month.
The programme delivers a strong foundation in civil engineering, covering key areas such as structures, geotechnics, transportation, and contemporary construction methods. Throughout the programme, apprentices apply their academic learning directly to real-world projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience.
