ATU alumna appointed Para Triathlon Programme Lead for Paralympics
Natasha Kelly, a recent graduate and scholarship holder at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), has been appointed Para Triathlon Programme Lead for the upcoming Paralympics, which will take place from 28 August until 8 September in Paris.
Natasha Kelly, a recent graduate and scholarship holder at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), has been appointed Para Triathlon Programme Lead for the upcoming Paralympics, which will take place from 28 August until 8 September in Paris.
Natasha, who earned her MSc in Health Promotion Practice from ATU, is a distinguished member of the Triathlon Ireland community. She competed with great distinction for ATU Sligo winning the Irish Intervarsity Triathlon championship in 2022. She is the Northwest and Connacht Development Officer and Para Triathlon Project Coach.
Natasha’s new role marks a significant milestone in her career, reflecting her dedication and commitment to promoting inclusivity in sports. As the Para Triathlon Programme Lead, she will oversee the development and execution of training programmes, ensuring that athletes are well-prepared for their performance on the world stage.
Natasha gave us some insight into the weeks leading up to the Paralympic Games and her role:
“I am deeply honoured to take on this role and contribute to the growth and success of the para triathlon at the Paralympics. My time at ATU provided me with the knowledge and skills that are crucial for promoting health and wellness, especially in the context of adaptive sports. I am excited to work closely with our athletes, helping them to reach their full potential.”
