Atlantic Technological University (ATU) has announced that several part-time flexible learning undergraduate courses are now eligible for funding under the SUSI Grant scheme. This initiative aims to improve access to higher education by providing financial support to eligible students pursuing approved part-time undergraduate degrees.

The Irish Government has extended SUSI funding to part-time fees, with eligible programmes required to lead to a major undergraduate award, such as a Higher Certificate, Ordinary Degree, or Honours Degree.

ATU successfully submitted a broad range of courses with approval granted across a range of awards from Level 6 (Higher Certificate) to Level 8 (Honours Degree), offered as part-time flexible learning courses at ATU campuses in Donegal, Mayo and Galway. The approved courses span diverse disciplines including Business, Design, Education, Humanities, Engineering, and Computing.

Dr Billy Bennett, Vice President for Academic Affairs & Registrar at ATU commented “We welcome the expansion of the SUSI Grant scheme to part-time learners, as it removes barriers to higher education for a broader cohort of students. Enabling education is a core component of Atlantic Technological University’s Strategic Plan, and with the extended SUSI support, sixteen of our courses are now eligible under the scheme, helping to alleviate the financial challenges many students face. We look forward to expanding this offering into the future, supporting the needs of our region”

ATU is now accepting applications for part-time, online and flexible learning programmes, including the SUSI approved programmes, from its extensive portfolio of over 460 courses.
