As part of their fourth and final year practice placements, Student Nurses from ATU St Angelas embarked on their 36-week internship which would mark the completion of their honours degree and achieving professional competence in their chosen field. Both General Nursing and Intellectual Disability Nursing groups celebrated their achievements by visiting the campus one final time, bringing a remarkable journey to a conclusion with the successful completion of their degree.

Speaking about these past four years, Dr Edel McSharry, Head of School of Nursing, Health Sciences and Disability Studies commends both groups, “this is a special time of year for us in the school, when we see how just far each and every student has come to achieve their dream of becoming a nurse”. “It’s a true testament to them and their families and they give inspiration to those who come after them”.

Dr McSharry continues “the success of our students is nurtured through our dedicated staff and partners in practice who ensure standards are maintained as well as providing a duty of care to our learners. Increased places available for nursing degrees means there has never been a better time to consider a rewarding career that makes real changes in today’s society.”

ATU St Angela’s will be hosting Open Days on Thursday 24th October, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November.
