EU Green – Researchers trip to Angers University for Work Package Meeting (June 26-28)
ATU researchers participated in a two-day workshop with other EU Green Alliance partners in the University of Angers, France last week (June 26-28). The ATU staff who participated included: Juanita Blue; Deirdre Brophy; Leo Creedon; Eoghan Furey; James Hanrahan; Frances Lucy; Marion McAfee; Michael McCann; Conor McTiernan; Rick Officer; Lisa Ryan; Ed Daly; John Scahill; and, Thomas Smyth.
Following an introductory session, the ATU team began collaborating with fellow researchers from the other EU Green eight universities to brainstorm ideas and key targets for the Alliance’s sustainability led research.
There are six main research clusters in EU Green, each with a different sustainability’ based theme: Health and well-being; Agriculture food and environmental sustainability; Engineering and technology for sustainable development; Sustainable tourism for cultural and natural heritage; Education sciences for sustainable development; and Challenges in ecosystem biodiversity and function.
At the event, ATU researchers were key to seeding new ideas for research proposals, blended intensive programmes (BIPs) and mobilities with our partners from the EU Green universities in France, Poland, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Italy, and Romania.
