EU GREEN University Alliance Engagement Lecture Series: Advancing Sustainability Across Universities and Communities
EU GREEN University Alliance is launching a monthly online lecture series designed to connect academic research with practical sustainability practices. Spanning 9 partner universities across Europe with over 150,000 students and staff, the EU Green Stakeholders Lectures will bring together students, faculty, external stakeholders, and community representatives to foster dialogue on global and local sustainability challenges.
These webinars serve as a platform to share best practices, promote innovative solutions, and inspire meaningful dialogue on sustainability challenges at both global and local levels.
The first online lecture hosted by ATU will feature Dr Majbritt Bolton-Warberg, Blue Economy Programme Manager at the Marine Institute, brings 20 years of experience in marine science to this lecture series.
Dr Bolton-Warberg coordinates the Marine Institute’s participation in the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, supports the national blue bioeconomy sector, and leads a JPI Oceans Joint Action on Blue Carbon. Her lecture will focus on the concept of the blue bioeconomy and its role in sustainability. Dr Bolton-Warberg will discuss how the Marine Institute supports the Irish sector through raising awareness, connecting stakeholders, facilitating funding and collaboration opportunities, and informing policy development and research strategies.
The lecture titled “Blue Bioeconomy and Sustainability” is aimed at students, researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, NGOs, and other stakeholders passionate about advancing sustainability.
Attendees will gain access to practical insights, learn from global best practices, and contribute to shaping sustainable societies. These lectures will also provide valuable networking opportunities with professionals and organisations leading sustainability initiatives.
