Pilot MyCareerPath programme gets underway

Seventy-five members of Atlantic Technological University(ATU) staff will commence a MyCareerPath Employability Skills course, in collaboration with N-TUTORR, this week.

Initially, 50 places were offered on the self-paced programme, but such was the demand among ATU staff that another 25 places were added. A waiting list has now been established for those who were not offered a place, and it is hoped that a further programme can be run in the Autumn.

This week, though, the first tranche of successful applicants will commence their journey on MyCareerPath’s tailored learning pathway, an innovative resource designed to enhance a participant’s skills, support their career growth, and meet the specific needs of the ATU team.

Running between six to eight weeks, the programme requires seven hours of self-directed learning, offers over two hours of one-to-one mentorship, and awards a N-TUTORR MyCareerPath digital badge to the participant on completion.

Among the other benefits are personalised guidance, including four clinic sessions with a dedicated Career & Learning Pathway Advisor (CLPA); tailored learning solutions, with access to a variety of learning opportunities tailored to ATU’s training requirements; and access to over one thousand online training modules and a Career Development Platform for three months.

Speaking on this pilot initiative within ATU, Careers and Pathways Manager, Bridie Killoran, said: “MyCareerPath aids ATU in unlocking staff potential and assisting them in their career development. We are delighted with the response, and it goes to show the high regard that the MyCareerPath programme has among ATU staff.”

MyCareerPath was developed under the Higher Education 4.0 Project, which is funded by the Human Capital Initiative Pillar 3. HCI Pillar 3 supports projects to enhance innovation and agility in response to future skills needs.
