TU Architecture Programme to showcase student work in Sligo

The Architecture Showcase will officially start at an Opening Event on Thursday, 13 June 2024 with the exhibition continuing on 14and 17 June 14 and 17. The exhibition will feature students architectural projects that span Sligo town, its environs and the wider region. These works highlight Sligo as a unique landscape for design exploration, showcasing the wondrous possibilities that the field of architectural research can generate for our region.

Bernadette Donohoe, Director of Architecture Accreditation at ATU Sligo said, “We are immensely proud of our Year 5 students who began their architecture education with us in 2018 and who will become the first ever graduates of the Bachelor of Architecture in Sligo. Their work is a testament to their creativity, dedication, and the exceptional training provided by our programme”.

ATU Sligo's Architecture School aims to make a significant contribution to the region and beyond as it takes its place amongst the cultural legacy of Sligo and its distinctive wealth of creative history. ATU Sligo have evolved its ideas of architecture over 25 years and are committed to collaborating with local businesses, practices and government to act as a catalyst in the development of the social, cultural and economic fabric of Sligo.

Director of Architecture Accreditation, Bernadette Donohoe added. "Building on this legacy and acknowledging the energy specific to this place, we aim to stimulate social engagement and dialogue around the identity of the local region, redefining the spirit of this place, currently and into the future."

The exhibition is open to the public, local businesses, and community stakeholders.
