Centre for Environmental Research Innovation and Sustainability (CERIS)
An innovative and expert team of researchers, academic staff and students providing key solutions in Applied Ecology, Resource Management and Past Environments. CERIS focusses on solutions for the management of land, water, natural resources and for the development of alternative energy technologies.
Our team conducts research into invasive species control, land management in terrestrial and freshwater systems, and agri-ecology.
Our research team conducts research into water and energy management, sustainability systems and agriculture and land use.
This team conducts research in a number of research areas such as cave and zoo archaeology, remote sensing and coastal monitoring.
About CERIS
CERIS members are scientists and engineers comprising:
- Academic staff (who also teach on ATU Sligo’s Undergraduate courses)
- Post-doctoral staff & research associates
- Masters and PhD students
ATU Sligo has been carrying out environmental research since the 1980’s both on a national and international level. We carry out research on behalf and in co-operation with a multiplicity of third-level institutions, agencies and industries. Our members provide advice and expertise to a range of academic and industrial bodies in both Europe and North America.
