Based at ATU Donegal, the WiSAR Technology Gateway (WiSAR) is a member of the nationwide Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway programme. WiSAR utilises the Internet of Things (IoT) technology stack to provide consultancy and applied research services in electronics and software to industry. This includes expertise in antenna design, wireless products, embedded systems, data management and related software.
The Gateway has an extensive portfolio of industry collaborations, ranging from SMEs to multinational organisations and today has a strong focus on smart devices and connected industries. Our core strengths are applied to three technology themes:
- Internet of Things (IoT) product development
- Wireless Design and Test
- Software and Systems
The Gateway has full IOT technology stack capability with research incorporating physical data collection, edge computing, communication protocols, data analytics, AI and machine learning with a focus on smart and connected industries such as health-tech, agriculture, renewables and industry 4.0.
Services Offered by WiSAR Technology Gateway:
- Research and Development (R&D): WiSAR provides R&D services to companies looking to innovate in wireless technologies, IoT, and embedded systems.
- Prototyping and Testing: WiSAR offers support for the development of prototypes and hardware testing before bringing products to market.
- Product Development: From ideation to final product, WiSAR assists in designing and building products that meet industry standards in wireless communication, sensors, and electronics.
- Consultancy: WiSAR provides consultancy services to businesses needing guidance on implementing wireless sensor networks, IoT systems, and smart devices. This can include UX and UI services.
- Access to Funding: WiSAR helps companies access various Enterprise Ireland funding schemes, including Innovation Vouchers and Innovation Partnerships, to support product development and research.
