New Students

Welcome to ATU!

Congratulations on accepting your place in Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

Follow the instructions below when you receive your registration email which will be sent to the email address you provided on your application. 

Step 1 – Set up your ATU Password and Multifactor Authenticator (MFA)

Requirements: A mobile phone and Laptop/PC

Video: Review the short  SetUp Video. 

To set up your ATU Student Account for the 2024-25 academic year, please follow the instructions LOGGING IN FOR THE FIRST TIME.

This is a 2-Step Process:

1. Set up your ATU Password
2. Set up Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for your account

Step 2 – Complete your Online Registration

Before beginning registration, please take the following action: 

1. Review the ATU Registration Video Guide and  ATU Student Guide to Online Registration. 
2. You need to confirm personal information when registering including (if applicable) PPS Number,  SUSI Reference Number and details of previous third level study.  Please have this information available. 
3. You will need a debit or credit card to pay fees. During the registration process,  all students will be asked if they want to pay their fees. You can make a full or partial payment or you can choose not to make a payment. Please be aware that failure to pay fees by the relevant deadlines will result in restrictions being applied to your account. For further information about fees, payment plans and deadlines, please refer to our Fees and Funding page

Requirements:  Laptop/PC and a digital photo ready for upload as part of registration: JPEG format, max size 150KB. We recommend using the camera app on your laptop to resize your photo.

Complete your registration via the self-service banner links below specific to your campus using your ATU Student email and new password.

Step 3 – Access your Course Material via Blackboard/Moodle

Your virtual learning environments will be available to you within 24 hours of registering for your programme.

• ATU Donegal – ATU Donegal Blackboard
• ATU Sligo –  ATU Sligo Moodle
• ATU Galway Mayo – ATU Galway Mayo Moodle

Access your ATU Student Email Account

1. All ATU communications are issued to your ATU student email.
2. Open Student Portal  and click “My Email” and log in using your ATU Student email and new password.
