After completing a FETAC Level 5 Social Studies Course at Mayo College of Further Education, I applied for the BA in Applied Social Care. As a mature student, returning to education felt daunting, but the support from lecturers and staff eased my anxieties.
There are so many more aspects to Social Care that I hadn’t considered. The understanding and approachable lecturers facilitate you as best they can once you communicate with them. I’ve enjoyed the professional practice work placements, and the modules I studied have equipped me to care for others while also looking after myself.
After graduating, I hope to support young people, and help them with any issues they feel are affecting them.
