Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to choosing your degree.

I started college in ATU Donegal in September 2022. I had just finished my leaving cert and was very fortunate to be offered a place for my first choice of course that I had put on my CAO application. I started college the following September and have really enjoyed my experience a ATU Donegal.

What was your overall experience of studying at ATU Donegal?

My overall experience of studying a ATU Donegal has been excellent, There are so many facilities available to students including the Curve, Students Union, clubs and societies and the lectures are always there to give us the help and support we need as well throughout the year with assignments and exams.

Why did you choose to study your programme?

I always wanted to work with the public and be able to support and care for people when they needed it most, which is why I decided to study nursing at ATU Donegal.

Were you part of any student clubs and societies, an award winner, or a scholarship recipient?

I was also extremely fortunate to have been granted an Optum scholarship in 2022, the year I applied for this degree. All of the Optum team, including my mentor Victoria Wilson, showed their support and were always there for me when I needed them, which was an incredible help to my family and me.

Did you have any unique experiences while being a student at ATU Donegal?

My work placements have been fantastic, and the experience I have gained has been amazing. I have worked in the maternity department, community hospitals, and with public health nurses, between different settings.
