Tertiary Degree Applicants
Tertiary degree programmes are co-designed and co-delivered routes from Donegal, (Donegal ETB), Mayo, Sligo, and Leitrim (MSLETB) and Galway and Roscommon (GRETB) Education and Training Boards (ETBs) to Atlantic Technological University (ATU).
Start year one of your degree close to home in a further education and training centre and then, upon successful completion, pick your specialism and progress to the ATU campus of your choice.
Tertiary Degree Pathways
All tertiary degree students undertake a common year one in their chosen subject area. During this year you will enjoy transitions days, information sessions and lectures with ATU staff on ATU campuses, giving you an idea of the specialisms available.
Bachelor of Business (Honours)
Year 1 based in the following ETB locations:
- FET Centre, Port Road, Letterkenny (DonegalETB)
- Galway Technical Institute, Galway City (GRETB)
- Mayo College of FET, Castlebar Campus (MSLETB)
Years 2, 3 & 4 based in the following ATU campuses:
- ATU Donegal – BB (Hons) in Business with Enterprise & Innovation
- ATU Galway – BB (Hons) in Business with Digital Business
- ATU Sligo – BB (Hons) in Business with Supply Chain Management
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sustainable Engineering Technologies
Year 1 based in the following ETB locations:
- FET Centre, Port Road, Letterkenny (DonegalETB)
- Galway Community College, Galway City (GRETB)
- Sligo College of FE, Ballinode (MSLETB)
Years 2, 3 & 4 based in the following ATU campuses:
- ATU Donegal – BSc (Hons) Sustainable Engineering Technologies for Computing
- ATU Galway – BSc (Hons) Sustainable Engineering Technologies for the Manufacturing Industry
- ATU Sligo – BSc (Hons) Sustainable Engineering Technologies for the Manufacturing Industry
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Laboratory Science
Year 1 based in the following ETB locations:
- FET Centre, Port Road, Letterkenny (DonegalETB)
- Galway Community College, Galway City (GRETB)
- Mayo College of FET, Westport Campus (MSLETB)
Years 2, 3 & 4 based in the following ATU campuses:
- ATU Donegal – BSc Industrial Laboratory Science (Biopharmaceutical Science)
- ATU Galway – BSc Industrial Laboratory Science (Biochemistry)
- ATU Sligo – BSc Industrial Laboratory Science (Life Sciences)
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in General Nursing
The tertiary route into General Nursing starts with the one-year QQI Level 5 Tertiary Access Nursing course in the ETB. Upon attainment of 5 Distinctions (in the required modules) students will progress into Year 1 of the 4-year BSc (Hons) in General Nursing at the corresponding ATU campus.
Locations for this new Tertiary Access Route:
- Dunmore ETB Centre (GRETB) progressing to ATU Mayo (Castlebar)
- Sligo College of FE, Ballinode (MSLETB) progressing to ATU Sligo (St. Angela’s)
- The Hub, FET Centre, Letterkenny (DonegalETB) progressing to ATU Donegal (Letterkenny)[CF1]
