Transversal Skills Identification & Development

Description

According to the National Skills Strategy 2025 (Ireland), core transversal skills are becoming increasingly important for a successful career. They enable people to move between jobs and careers, and to participate in lifelong education and training. The importance of transversal skills at all levels in the workplace has been accelerated by the double disruption of the pandemic and fourth industrial revolution.

‘Transversal skills’ are skills which are not confined to any one discipline, but rather can be applied across multiple areas. Examples of transversal skills include, but are not limited to, the following: communication skills, creativity, digital literacy, problem-solving, critical thinking, innovation, ability to work in teams, and a growth mindset.
