QQI Further Education Applicants
ATU welcome applications from students presenting QQI FET Level 5 and 6 awards.
On this page
We are committed to supporting the progression of learners into third level education and reserve a quota of places for QQI/FET award applicants on most undergraduate programmes.
Depending on the course, entry requirements could include a specific QQI award, grades, or modules that must be achieved.
Please refer to the relevant undergraduate course page for specific details on QQI Entry Requirements for these courses; they can also be viewed on the QQI FET Applicants section on the CAO website www.cao.ie
How to Apply
- You must apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO).
- Ensure you provide your PPSN on your application form.
- To apply, you must be studying for or have achieved a full major QQI FET Level 5 or Level 6 award. A component certificate (minor award) will not suffice.
- The best 8 modules of your award are used for ranking purposes. The max FET points awarded is 390.
- If you have accumulated your major award over various years, you will need to apply to QQI for the major award.
- Applicants presenting full QQI FET level 5 or Level 6 awards will not be required to meet the minimum entry requirements based on Leaving Certificate results. The QQI FET award is accepted in its own right (see minimum entry requirements)
- QQI FET results cannot be added to Leaving Certificate points. Where applicants have taken both exams, the QQI FET award will be considered for round 0 and if not successful, the Leaving Certificate results will be considered for Round 1.
- For programmes having a specific QQI FET quota, results are considered in CAO Round 0 (early August). Your QQI FET scores will not normally be considered after Round 0 where a quota applies.
