A Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) is under development at ATU with the aim of welcoming the first intake of students in September 2025, subject to the successful completion of the accreditation process with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
The MPharm programme will be based at the ATU Sligo campus. It will be a five-year, full-time CAO undergraduate programme, with 36 places initially available. At the end of the programme, graduates will be entitled to register to practise as pharmacists in Ireland.
Significant investment in university facilities has been completed in the Sligo campus, with the development of a €35million facility that includes state-of-the-art teaching and research spaces, undergraduate and postgraduate science laboratories, and a clean room.
If the validation process is successful, this programme should be available for application on the CAO during the Change of Mind season before it closes on July 1, 2025.
