An Erasmus trip to Norway was life-changing, offering personal growth and new perspectives. The course provided valuable industry connections and qualifications, giving me a strong foundation for a career in outdoor education and beyond.
I began studying Outdoor Education at ATU in September 2021. Growing up nearby, the transition was smooth, and I quickly made friends in the small Castlebar community. My background in sailing and living on a boat every summer instilled a deep love for nature.
During secondary school, I realized how vital nature was to me and discovered outdoor education during transition year. ATU’s course felt like a natural fit, balancing academic and adventure pursuits. I've climbed in Costa Blanca, mountaineered in Wales, and kayaked in Connemara.
