Forbhreathnú Cúrsa
Our Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Intellectual Disability Nursing is dedicated to ensuring you have the necessary training and knowledge to work with adults and children who have an intellectual disability. It’s a rewarding and fulfilling course that will set you on the path to a rewarding and fulfilling career.Intellectual Disability Nursing empowers people with intellectual disabilities who may be unable to live fully independent lives. Your role as a qualified nurse will guide and support your patients towards maintaining optimum health and wellbeing, and crucially, social inclusion in their day-to-day lives. Your work is vital and important in society, working closely with each individual and their specific needs, as well as their families and other carers in your team. Practice placement of up to 39 hours a week forms an integral part of your training. After qualifying you’ll be able to pursue your career in clinical nursing, nurse management or education, with your training also a foundation to enable you to pursue other areas of nursing – from oncology to orthopaedics. Non-Eu candidates will not be considered for this course unless/until there are still vacant places available after all eligible EU candidates have been considered.
