An international conference on the impact of digital transformation in teaching and learning in Higher Education is to be hosted by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in Galway city (Dublin Road campus) and online on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 September 2024.

An international conference on the impact of digital transformation in teaching and learning in Higher Education is to be hosted by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in Galway city (Dublin Road campus) and online on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 September 2024.
Titled “Navigating Transformation in Higher Education”, the 2024 DigitalEd Conference, organised by ATU’s Teaching and Learning Centre (Galway-Mayo), ATU’s Online, Flexible and Professional Development team, and ATU’s N-TUTORR project team, this online and onsite event is an open event for those working and studying in higher education. The ATU DigitalEd annual conference was first established in 2020.
This conference will have a special focus on Virtual Learning Environments and themes such as Digital Transformation in Teaching, Learning and Assessment, Artificial Intelligence in Third Level Teaching and Learning, Digital Pedagogy, Flexible and Online Learning Environments and Student Empowerment and Engagement.
Keynote speakers are Professor Maritn Weller, Professor of Educational Technology, Open University; Dr Deirdre Hughes, OBE, Director DMH Associates, and Alena Rodick, Director of Learning Design and Solutions, Empire Online, State University of New York (SUNY).
Dr Carina Ginty, N-TUTORR Institutional Lead, ATU Galway, says the conference aims to bring together educators, researchers and practitioners working in digital education and transformation across the N-TUTORR network including the technological universities and institutes of technology. “Participants will share and discover innovative uses of education technology in teaching, learning and assessment. The conference will have a particular focus on digital learning environments, artificial intelligence (AI) and education, and designing for the future”.

The onsite location for the conference is Theatre 904, ATU Galway (Dublin Road).
