Sligo Engineering Fair Returns for A Day of Exploration and Fun for Young and Old
The Sligo Engineering Fair returns for its sixth consecutive year on Sunday, 2 March, at Atlantic Technological University’s Sligo campus.

The Sligo Engineering Fair returns for its sixth consecutive year on Sunday, 2 March, at Atlantic Technological University’s Sligo campus. Running from 12 pm to 4 pm, the fair promises a day filled with exploration, innovation, and family-friendly fun.
Organised by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in collaboration with Engineers Ireland NW, and global healthcare leader Abbott, this year’s fair offers a wide range of performances, workshops and demonstrations for all the family to enjoy.
Attendees will be able to build and launch a foam rocket, build towers and bridges from marshmallows and toothpicks and meet “Alex” the robot and “Sparky” our pet robot dog face to face.

The Engineering Fair at ATU Sligo will also include a wide range of performances, interactive displays workshops and demonstrations for all the family to enjoy.

This exciting event opens our doors to the community, welcoming visitors of all ages to explore the dynamic and diverse world of engineering. Through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, we aim to inspire the next generation of engineers by showcasing the creativity, problem-solving, and innovation that drive this field. It’s a fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity and highlight the real-world impact of engineering in a fun and engaging way.”
Highlights of the packed programme of events will be Lego workshops with Bricks4Kids. Engineering Discovery Zone – is an area with family friendly activities, enjoy engineering games and more. Additionally, attendees can explore the world of robotics through “Robothink!”.
This year will also see the return of the Abbott Engineering Room, offering attendees a hands-on experience with engineering experiments and interactive stations to delve into various aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines.
